East & Southeast Asia

ANDE’s East and South East Chapter officially launched in June 2014 and is currently led by a volunteer Steering Committee of locally based members. This year the chapter will be working together to better understand and leverage existing resources in the region, facilitate interaction amongst local actors, and identify common challenges and collaborative projects to address them. The ANDE Chapter in East & Southeast Asia operates in China, Hong Kong, Japan, North Korea, South Korea, Macao, Mongolia, Taiwan, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam.

Steering Committee Chair: Abbie Jung

Abbie is the co-founder of Synergy Social Ventures which educates funders about the use of philanthropy, philanthropic investment and social entrepreneurship as innovative tools to achieve sustainable development goals. She has a background in venture capital, public health and international development working with organizations such as Médecins Sans Frontières and the World Health Organization. As Regional Director of Nexus Asia, she creates collaborative communities of socially conscious and active young leaders and convenes a range of events around philanthropy, impact investing and social entrepreneurship in the region. She has a bachelor’s degree in Neurobiology from University of California at Berkeley and a master’s degree in Population and Family Health from Columbia University.
